𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞; walker scobell - 8 (2024)

 
walker looks really surprised by this question and thinks for a minute or two "well i'd date you i guess" he eventually said. yeah i guess. right the moment he says that, i feel erica staring so i eventually look at her back. she smiles and tilts her head innocently, does she think she did something? i mean it's not that deep, right? he had to say that.. but did he? yes obviously who would give up their biggest dream? and erica.. she's really pretty actually.
"okay that was an oddly specific question" dior's voice eventually breaks me out of my thoughts.
i shoot her an 'i know right!' look and she seems to understand it perfectly well.
"i've got an idea for the next game!" erica says completely ignoring dior as everyone looks at her.
"hide and seek! we can move places though" she squeals.
"okay let's do it, we love us a childish game" leah says as we all stand up. "i'll seek" she closes her eyes and starts counting. this could actually be a lot of fun.
they all know exactly where they're going, it seems like they've been in walker's house at least like a hundred times. i decide to just improvise but before i go the other way, i see erica teaming up with walker. alright.
at this point i'm pretty sure that leah already started seeking and i don't even know where i'm going. suddenly i hear someone walking closer and closer in the hallway so i just quickly hide in the first room i see and quickly slide behind the door, but the person just casually walks by so it was either someone moving places or leah not aiming for this room. i finally have a chance to look around and this is a childish boyish room, this cannot be walker's room, can it? i go back to the hallway and i see a bathroom, then i'm guessing leena's room and then another boyish room, this one looks way more likely to be walker's room.
"aves! why aren't you hiding" i hear walker whisper-scream and i nearly jump.
"oh my gosh you've scared me blondie!" i whisper-scream back at him.
"another nickname huh?" he smiles as he looks down "come with me, i'm changing spots for this really cool secret one that's in my room. i'm sure that nobody knows about it" he casually grabs my hand as he catches up to me.

"walker i don't wanna break this to you but that's like the literal meaning of a 'secret' spot, it's supposed to be secret"
"you talk too much, darling" he says jokingly shaking his head, but the way he said it makes my head spin. i'm too lost in my thoughts but suddenly we're in his room and he's moving his closet. 
there's this mini-room hidden behind it, and we enter it.
"this is awesome" i look around, he has some snacks there, a laptop and this soft carpet that we sit on.
"it's like my secret place when i don't wanna be around other people, or when my siblings annoy me," he smiles "i just tell them that i'm going out but in reality i sometimes just hide here" he shakes his head.
"it's really cozy in here" i say as i admire this place. "do you think that leah found someone already?" i ask
"i think she's pretty close to finding emma" who the hell is emma? i didn't know there was an emma here?
"do you mean erica?" i ask all confused.
"oh yeah, erica" this boy has a really bad short term memory.
"i saw you guys going together though" i try my chances for maybe an explanation or something? okay let's not.
"oh yeah, i've told her that i'm not teaming up with anyone" he said leaning back.
"walker?" i look into these ocean eyes of his.
"yeah, avery?" he loooks at me back.
"why did you tell her that? you're teaming up with me right in this very moment" i ask indistinctly.
"that's different" he looks down and starts playing with his hands, did i make him uncomfortable? oh no.
"do you think they'll find us eventually though? you said nobody even knew about this place" i try to change the subject.
"yeah, eventually" he looks at me again still playing with his hands with his cheeks being slightly pink. i obviously don't point any of that out because i know that if he wasn't uncomfortable to this moment, he would definitely be now. and i also know that people blush when they're uncomfortable so i don't make a big deal out of this. "hey, do you wanna watch anything on netflix 'till they find us? i have my laptop in here" he probably noticed that i'm too lost in my thoughts.
"yeah let's see what you got" i smile and we both look at his laptop.
he logs into his netflix account and we agree on playing 10 things i hate about you. this secret place of his isn't definitely the warmest spot of his house, i understand why he has all these blankets here.
"aves, are you cold?" he asks noticing my trembling. and before i can say anything, he gently places my head on his chest and wraps his arm around me. okay unexpected? but definitely not unwanted. i just smile at him and we begin watching. like 15 minutes into the start, i hear a phone buzzing so i take it thinking it's mine. i grab it with one hand and accidentally slide to the right and take a picture, but i quickly slide back and look at the notifications. it's walker's phone.
"hey your phone keeps buzzing" i whisper so we could still hear the movie playing.
"can you check it for me please?" he asks keeping his eyes on the screen. i look and see 10 missed calls from aryan, and 2 from momona. oh my gosh, we're still playing the damn game.
"uhh i think leah has already found everyone" i lift my head up, looking into his eyes.
"i completely forgot that we were playing!" he slowly sits up. i stand up as he closes the laptop and we leave the secret spot. 
as we come out of his room, we bump into leah in the hallway.
"hey! got them!" leah yells out.
