I just posted my final capstone project. I completed well at SCAD. Here is a picture of me at the senior showcase next to the boards we created to accompany our presentation. Our final presentation was to be 20 minutes long. That meant presenting a lot of information in a short amount of time! Check out my last post to see more of it!

Yesterday was the Savannah College of Art and Design’s interior design senior showcase for all undergraduate and graduate students in Atlanta, Georgia. This event allows students to show off their final project while at SCAD. It occurred to me that I had never shared my capstone project here on LinkedIn, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. My final project is a dispensary, lounge, and café, all in one, that speaks to an underserved market in the cannabis industry: women. I found the surprising statistic that women spend 80% of all the money in the consumer market every year, while men spend only 20%. Naturally, one would think the spending ratio would apply to all markets where women shop because they are spending more money. However, this ratio does not translate to the cannabis industry. 40% of the money spent on cannabis every year is by women, while 60% is by men. My hypothesis was not that women are not less interested in cannabis but that there is a lot more shame and stigma around women using cannabis. A stigma that comes from outdated, misinformed, fear-based stereotypes.Imagine how much more money could be made if the cannabis industry was more inclusive of women and their needs!! 🤯The Garden is not a space only for women, but it is a place where those intimidated by the idea of cannabis can freely observe and learn more about it without feeling uncomfortable or out of place. If this intrigues you, I encourage you to look through my project and all the research I did to come to this conclusion and the beautiful result of it all.

Very intriguing and pertinent article for those entering the workforce or deciding what to study. As someone who is around many creatives, I feel we often discuss finding the balance between job security and chasing passion. From what I’ve gathered, it is essential first to ask yourself what kind of life you want to live. Not, what type of job do you want to work?I feel this article does a good job of talking through this topic. Just thought I’d share✨

Back in 2022, I was awarded a Certificate for Architectural Visualisation from the Rookie Awards for my SCAD Honey Cafe transformation. For those unfamiliar with The Rookies, they are, in their words, "Your gateway to the creative industries! Showcase your talent, win amazing prizes, and get noticed by the world's top studios. Whether you're a student, hobbyist, or emerging artist, this global platform is your chance to shine". I love that programs like The Rookies exist for creatives like me to be recognized in and out of school. It was my electronic design professorPeili Wangthat encouraged us to enter. He is also the reason why I know everything I do about Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Enscape. He was one of the most influential teachers I had at SCAD, and I can not thank him enough for teaching me how to make the best of these programs. As a primary user of the Honey Cafe space daily, I knew exactly what it needed. Self-checkout kiosks, microwaves for heating food, and semi-private spaces for studying, all things the cafe doesn't have now, were a must! I have attached below the project that won me this certification. I hope you all love it as much as I do! Let me know what you think.

It is bittersweet to announce I have completed my time at Savannah College of Art and Design. I want to thank my professors and classmates for mentoring and supporting me. I will forever cherish the memories and friends I made along the way, but I am excited to start on this new journey. I wanted to share five projects I worked on while in school. These are only just a glance at the work and thought that went into each project at Savannah College of Art and Design. Each project shows off various skills, including problem-solving through hand sketching, a unique approach to concepts through collages, and rendering abilities with #revit and #enscape. Let me know what you think and just know this is only the beginning!

The dispensary design here! 🙌Destigmatizing cannabis starts with informing people more about the process, plant, and products. The stigma around cannabis can deter people from exploring its potential, but spaces like this one in the article can help break that barrier of mystery. https://lnkd.in/gsFc5eqW

Loving the concept of a Consumption Lounge! As I do more research into my capstone project I am discovering the potential that the cannabis industry along with the new ways people are consuming safely. San Francisco is setting the bar for what cannabis consumption can be like! Places like the Bloom Room and Urban Pharm were among those businesses that took advantage of the San Francisco’s city law, which makes available a permit allowing dispensaries to add on smoking rooms and other consumption areas on-site. “Elevating the experience by envisioning a totally new vibe for pot enjoyment: glamour, class and sophistication, from the offerings to the decor to the services.” 💚Check out the article below!!!A Non-Drinker Discovers the Joy of an SF Cannabis Lounge https://lnkd.in/g2bwH-TW
